Refreshing Summer Drinks


As summer is hitting badly in various parts of  India. And the temperature has risen to above 40- 45°C and its rohini nakshtra. This time the sun enters in highest temperature. In summers the body also gets warm and we have to keep our body hydrated and refresh with different eatables such as juices, water, lemonade, etc or equipment such as electronic devices: AC, Refrigerator, Cooler, fan.

To keep oneself cool and protected from hot weather is the duty is individuals. They have to take some precautions and measurements and avoid going out in day time.
There are many precautions that can be held to protect but drinking cool refreshment drinks and cocktails is everyone’s favorite. It is light by nature and gives such a soothing feeling to the stomach.

There are many summers refreshing drinks listed as follows:

Watermelon slushy: Watermelon slushy is the best chilled refreshing drinks. It is easy to make and the flavor of mint and black salt makes it delicious. Just like ice gola.

Coconut water: It is a naturally refreshing drink. It is available in all juice centers. There are many benefits of having coconut water on skin and hair. It helps you glow a little more and solve all skin problems. If consume daily or once in a week it makes your hair shiny and improves the growth.

Sattu Sharbat: This is my personal favorite and I am missing sattu badly (as I haven’t had it till now). Sattu is also known as chhatua, sattu pindi, chattu. The sweets made by sattu is also delicious.

Buttermilk (Chaas): Buttermilk is the famous Indian refreshment drink amongst citizens. It is easy to make and a good drink which helps food to digest faster.

Sugarcane Juice: It is widely available in all eatables shops and stalls. Sugarcane is the instant refreshment drink. It's yummy also but the sugar content is damn too high. Which makes it less healthy.

Lassi: Lassi is everyone’s favorite drink in summer. And you must have drunk it once in your life. But you will be surprised to know that there are varieties of lassi available such as mango lassi, rose lassi, salty lassi, mint lassi, sweet lassi, banana lassi, strawberry lassi, chocolate lassi, jeera lassi, Caramel espresso lassi.
Lassi is preferable to drink in hot weather. It is cold so must be avoided in rainy and winters.
Cold Coffee: Coffee is an all-time favorite whether you like to consume it hot or cold. It suits well all year long. It is basically warm in nature but youth likes to consume it in summers also. In summers it is prepared in chilled milk.

Kokum Juice: Kokum juice is not only a delicious drink but it has various health benefits also. Kokum is a purple berry that is extensively used in Ayurveda to prevent infection.

Iced Mint Green Tea: Yeah tea is everyone’s favorite but iced tea is the latest favorite drink in summers. Regular tea is warm in nature so couldn’t consume regularly in summers.

Badam Milk: Almonds are the rich fruit that contains a good amount of nutrients, such as protein, fibers, magnesium, vitamin E, calcium, potassium. This all are essential for the body. Badaam milk or almond milk is a power pack healthy drink.

Chamomile Tea: It is a herb and very popular beverages. It has many health benefits.

Barley Water: It is also called jo water. It is healthy to drink and regulates weight loss.

Gulaab Sharbat: Here comes the most lovable sharbat during summers. I personally wait for a whole long year to drink this amazing fresh drink. And it is yummy with milk.

Khus Sharbat: It is the coolest drink to have in hot weather. It cools your body temperature.

Kesar Sharbat: It is a royal drink and Kesar is warm in nature. But it is loved and consumed by all.

Nimbu Paani Or Lemonade: The easiest and sassiest drink and it is very common among Indians. It is available in all roadside stalls.

Masala Soda: Soda is all time chosen drink. It is refreshing. But it is advisable to not drink soda regularly. It is not good for your health.

We are in the mid of may, the hottest month of the year. And its lockdown time too, so everyone is staying at their home in these hot summers. Some must be using AC, cooler, stand fan, ceiling fan and etc. This is the varieties of electronics one can use in hot summers.

Other than these electronics, there are many options to stay cool in summers. Ways to stay cool in heat are:

1. Wear cotton and light color clothes

Cotton clothes make one fresh and passage of air is easy. Cotton is the best fabric to wear in summers and in hot weathers. It does not absorb the sun lights and make humans chill.

On other hand light color give freshness to eyes, and it reflects the sun radiation and does not transform into heat.

2. Stay hydrated

Staying hydrated is very important. As it makes you toxic free and maintain the functions of body system that includes heart, brain, muscles. Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water.

Fruits which have high water content.

Eat water rich fruits such as musk melon, water melon, oranges, grapes, pineapple, cranberries, raspberries, strawberries. Even banana comes in watery fruit. Although it does not look like a watery fruit but it contains 72% of water.

High water content vegetables.

The high water content vegetables which are best and refreshing in hot weather are cucumber, tomatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce, spinach.

You can drink juices, lemon water, coconut water, bael juice, rose sharbat, khas sharbat, curd, chaas also known as butter milk.

3. Avoid day outing

Avoid day outing in noon time. This is because noon time records the highest temperature of the day and this can make you ill also. The hot breeze can lead to fever, motions, makes your body weak. This can lead to sun tanning also and sun tanning causes dark red patches on skin. It is itchy and gives you discomfort.

                             Avoid eating too much

Yes, you read that right: Avoid overeating. Eating too much produces heat from inside and makes you feel heavy and makes your stomach bloating. Avoid eating with your full stomach. It gives you easiness and relaxation to your body.

Eating less has one more benefit; it makes you slim and healthy. That’s why  it says summers is best time to shed away your extra kilos and lose weight. Because you switch to liquids, eat less. This cut down your calorie intake and makes you fit.

5. Yoga


Yoga

Yes, Yoga is great practice to do in summers. It relaxes your body and mind and give you coolness. As going to gym is not easy it produces too much sweat and it’s irritating. So give a try to yoga and meditation. And connect spiritually to god.
Try eating raw onions with your meal daily. It prevents you from hot summer’s breeze.
At last, stay hydrated, stay healthy, stay fit!

How to Stay Fit Without Gym


Due to the pandemic novel corona virus, all the human activities have stopped and peoples are staying at their home. The lifestyle has changed a lot, the government has put everyone in lockdown and as per the government order the public areas are shut until the next announcement. The main purpose of lockdown is to avoid the unwanted gathering of crowd and to stop the spread of corona virus. The public place includes the places where the peoples gather like parks, gym, cinema halls, shopping malls, amusement parks, hotels, restaurants, play house, schools, colleges, universities, offices, corporate sectors and many more.

The lockdown has made humans to stay/ lock at home until the next announcement. And they cannot move outside without any urgent work. The police and government workers are keeping assure that peoples are staying back home.

The lockdown is affecting very badly to the humans fitness and they are unable to perform any kind of activities. This lead those to do workout at home and stay fit without going to gym.

There are many online fitness classes happening all over the world to keep humans fit and healthy.

Here are the lists of activities you can perform at home which will help you to stay fit.

2 Surya Namaskar
3 Dance
4 Take stairs
5 Avoid sitting for long hours

Jumping:

All must have know about jumping but no one ever use to it. This can be because we don’t know the benefits of jumping / skipping. Skipping is the best cardio exercise which helps you maintain your fitness and shed away the extra fat of body.

Skipping is not at all time consuming. Skipping rope hardly takes around 5mins to jump 500 times. If you are a daily skipper or those who know jumping robe well you can do it more fast.

Now you must be thinking from where to get the skipping rope? And What to do if don’t have jump rope at home?

No need to worry guys, you can still make it count and do skipping without rope. Just jump and start counting. That’s it!

Surya Namaskar:

Surya Namaskar is my personal favorite activity to do at home and it make me the calm and cool.

Surya Namaskar is the best practice to stay fit because it includes 12 asanas and it works on whole body. It makes you lose extra pounds and with the inhale and exhale breathing practice it makes you healthy from inside out.

Surya Namaskar is also known as sun Salutation in English. Sun salutation is not a time consuming activity and can be perform with ease.

If you are someone who don’t know how to do surya namaskar? Just head to the youtube channels and search for the asans/ steps of sun salutation.

Dance:

And dance is the best practice to stay fit and flexible at home. Dance is light activity as well as entertaining which you can enjoy with family and can stay fit and healthy.

You can dance on any type of songs and with whatever steps you know. Just enjoy as much as possible. Each and every dance step is a source of exercise only. Dance makes your energy level up and helps you maintain fitness.

Now a day’s Zumba and aerobics are in boom. You can search for zumba, aerobics classes on youtube and start doing. There you can get dance steps on latest songs and on evergreen songs as well.

There are various online session happening where they teach you live zumba, aerobics.

Use Stairs:

If you are someone who don’t have enough time to do the above mentioned activities then opt for some minor changes in your lifestyle such as use stairs in place of lift elevator while going down from your apartment reaching to you office floors.

No no if your office or home is at 10th floor no need to take elevators. You can go half way from stairs and then can take lift.

Stairs give strength to your core muscles and tone your legs without hitting to gym.

Avoid sitting for long hours:

Whether you are at home or office going person. Avoid sitting for long hours. Just go for small walk and roam around at home and in office you can go to refill your water bottle. There are many disadvantages of long time sitting; it makes you lazy and less productive. It might give you back injury, leads to improper posture, pain in your muscles, excess fat around waist.

Sitting for long hours gives you diseases like increased blood pressure, high blood sugar level.
